Bloodline Champions: First Impressions

March 1, 2010 Leave a comment

So, I finally managed to get an invitation to the closed beta of Bloodline Champions. Yeah, right, that cool game.

When I first started the game I was very excited. I knew that the game has to be cool but it was even cooler than I imagined. First I played some rounds against Glamurio, well I lost all of them cause he had more experience and this is very important in any skill based games. After, we went through some games and I got better and better while testing some of the bloodlines. I bet you want to know which bloodlines there are, so here you have a short overview.

There are 3 healers right now:

The Alchemist, who is mained by Shelt, the best BLC-gamer right now, has great defensive abilities paired with some nice possibilities to disable enemies at the right moment.

The Psychopomp is  more focused on the battle then the Alchemist but more in a supportive way, then the game’s casters.

The Herald is atm the best healer, staffed with some nice CC abiities and the possibility to return enemy’s projectiles which can be very devastating.

The ranged damage dealers:

The Igniter really likes to summon his fire-spells to burn the enemy down. He/She can even turn him/herself into a flame to get invulnerable.
Staffed with two guns and a rocket launcher the Gunner is able to deal heavy damage in ranged combat. She is able to blind their enemies and to get invisible for a short amount of time, to pull off surprising attacks.
The Nomad has the best CC of all ranged dps bloodlines. She can take out enemies for 4 seconds which is pretty long in this game. Her boomerangs are able to hit more than one enemy at one throw if well aimed.

There are also tanks:

Glutton is a really heavy person with a high amount of HP paired with a nice self-healing spell.  To deal damage he uses his fists to beat the enemy or he summons/throws rocks at them.
The Vanguard is focused on melee battles but he has two spells to reach the enemy easily. First in melee-range, it’s very hard to escape a well played Vanguard.
The Inhibitor is the tank with the least HP of all the tank, yet his MS is very slow. His aim is to inhibit the enemy or to strengthen up your team’s attacks. My favorite bloodline right now.

And last but not least, the Melee DPS:

The Harbinger is a very tricky hero to deal with, while he is classified with the melee chars, he is still able to inflict some nice dmg in ranged combat. Additionally he is able to pull enemies or allies towards him.
The Spearmaster is a nice melee focused dps-bloodline who can still pull of some damage in ranged combats, if needed, he can close the gap to the enemy with a spear throw and stunning them afterwards.
The Ranid Assassin is the bloodline with the highest possible dps. As the name says, he is able to go into stealth and surprising the enemy with a ton of burst damage. Paired with poison and a blind he can be really annoying.

Overall I have to say that this this game is really great and you will miss something if you won’t give it a try once it will be out of closed beta.

Gaming Saturday #6: Bloodline Champions

December 20, 2009 2 comments

I know it’s already Sunday evening but you should better be happy that I posted anything. As you’ve seen, today’s game is called  Bloodline Champions (BLC)

As you may have seen in the trailer, you can only sign up for the beta yet. The beta isn’t even released so why do I write about it if i don’t even played it? The answer is pretty easy: First I read a lot about this game and it seems to be really awesome and second I want give you a chance to discover the game early so you are able to participate in the closed beta.

But what is this game about? If you watched the trailer and payed attention you should guessed the most. BLC is (like LoL) a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena). The main differences to other games in this genre are your endless amount of mana (there is no mana) and the fact that every skill is a skillshot which means you have to aim carefully and your projectiles won’t chase the enemy. If you wanna know more about the game, watch this instruction video or visit the website where you can also sign up for the closed beta. It’s not sure yet if the game will be free to play or if you have to buy it but the beta will be free.
